Arulmigu Kulandhai Velappar Temple

Arulmigu Kulandhai Velappar Temple

Arulmigu Kulandhai Velappar Temple is a revered Lord Murugan temple located in Oddanchatram, Dindigul district, along the road leading toward Palani. The Tamil Nadu Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department officially lists it as Arulmigu Kulanthai Velappar Temple, Oddanchatram.

The presiding deity is Lord Murugan in the form of Kulandhai Velappar, portrayed in a child-like form holding the sacred Vel. Because of this distinctive appearance, devotees affectionately refer to the deity as “Mittai Murugan,” or the Sweet Murugan. A special local tradition is to offer sweets and candies to the deity while praying for wishes and family blessings.
