Co-optex has launched its Deepavali 2026 special discount sale in Dindigul and Theni districts, offering customers a 30% special discount on selected silk and cotton handloom products. The initiative is part of the Tamil Nadu government’s annual festival-season programme to promote handloom products and increase income opportunities for weavers.
In Dindigul, District Collector Durgamoorthi, IAS, inaugurated the special sale at the Co-optex showroom in the Anna Commercial Complex. The district has been given a Deepavali-season sales target of approximately ₹1.22 crore (₹122.50 lakh). The Collector appealed to residents to purchase Co-optex products and support the livelihoods of handloom weavers. Last year, Co-optex reportedly recorded around ₹1.01 crore in sales in Dindigul, with a higher target fixed for the 2026 festival season.
Customers can choose from a wide selection of traditional and contemporary textiles, including silk sarees, cotton sarees, organic sarees, cotton dhotis and bedspreads. Products representing weaving traditions from areas such as Kancheepuram, Arani and Salem are among the varieties being offered during the festive sale. The special pricing is intended to make quality handloom products more attractive to shoppers preparing for Deepavali.
In Theni district, Collector R. Vaithinathan inaugurated the Co-optex Deepavali sale, with a festival-season sales target of approximately ₹75.50 lakh. Co-optex had reportedly achieved around ₹61.02 lakh in sales in Theni during the previous year’s corresponding period, and officials are aiming for stronger sales this year.
The Deepavali campaign is not only a festive shopping promotion but also part of a broader effort to support Tamil Nadu’s handloom sector and the families dependent on traditional weaving. Similar Co-optex Deepavali sales across Tamil Nadu are offering a government-supported 30% discount on handloom silk and cotton varieties, encouraging consumers to choose locally produced textiles.
Customers who cannot visit a showroom can also purchase Co-optex products through its online shopping facility, providing wider access to handloom sarees, dhotis and home textiles during the Deepavali season.
